Provide dates, location, field marks, photographs, recordings, and other evidence that supports review.

What counts as rare?

Birds can appear in unusual places—or at unusual times.

A species may require review because it is rarely documented in Arkansas, because the date falls outside its expected season, or because the sighting would establish an important county or state record. The review list helps observers know when additional documentation is useful.

Records Committee

Evidence is reviewed for the permanent record.

The Arkansas Bird Records Committee evaluates documented reports and adds accepted records to the Alliance’s database. This creates a consistent source for future research and updates to the official state checklist.
